As a kid I was always mesmerized by hair. I can remember watching in a hand mirror as my mother would braid my hair thinking to myself, I bet I can do this. Immediately I began to practice on myself in the mirror, and of course on any doll that I could. It wasn't long after I actually got the hang of it. From then on,  watching my mother would be my guide and first standard of real beauty. I would be so intrigued by the way she put on her mascara and how she would look at herself after applying her lipstick. It was a look of certainty. A look of confidence and assurance. Those looks were what made me say, I want to be able to help everyone look at themselves like that.

 

I started out very young at the age of 11 as the "neighborhood braid girl". I practiced other styles as I felt the level of difficulty was. Soon I could do a good bit more than just braids. The better I became and over the years I was then known as the "neighborhood stylist".

It took me some time to dedicate myself to becoming a full time stylist, but once I did it was the best decision I could have made. I am now a Business Owner and on my way to building my brand. I have opened Luxurious Luster Salon and I am a well rounded and versatile hair stylist, makeup artist, hair distributor and my own product line maker. Over the years I have been able to give people the look that I dreamed of from a little girl and I couldn't be happier. There is more to come and more growth to go from here! I am happy to be in the position to help others live out their dreams through my salon. Even happier to keep learning, sharing and growing as a entrepreneur in the beauty industry.
